Cabo Surf House Rental Private Beachfront

Cabo San Lucas vacation rental Surf House Rental

Some of the best surf breaks are located 1/2 mile to 6 miles away from Casa Kash surf house rental.  The East Cape still offers uncrowded surf and at times you can find yourself all alone.  The Villa is so close to these breaks and most of the other surfers that come out to the East Cape have to travel from San Jose or Cabo San Lucas.  A lot of the time we can get the morning break all to ourselves by the time they drive out there.  Most of them leave well before night fall.  I have found that the last hour or two before sunset can be the best time with no wind and glassy conditions with most likely waves all to yourself.  Sunsets in the East Cape are the pretiest anywhere in the world in my opinion and being on your surfboard catching a wave while the rainbow colors of the sky go dark is breathtaking.

Being close to the Villa allows you to do a few sessions throughout the day.  One can come back and take a shower, relax on the patio and jump in the pool and then have a great meal in order to fuel up for the next session.

A few of the well known spots are mentioned below.  I know of a few more that many don't know about and will be happy to share with those who decide to rent the Villa.

Shipwreck is one of the more famous breaks that is usually un-crowded. . It's mainly for shortboarders and can produce some great swells. Shipwreck can pick up more swell than a lot of in town breaks because it faces south, not southeast, which makes it fairly consistent especially in summertime. It's a zippy right point/reef, at the west end of the bay, which can connect all the wave through to the beach in a series of different sections, there's also a little reef in the middle of the bay that can produce short-but-sweet lefts as well. Both waves are steeper and faster than Nine Palms. The beach itself is beautiful, squeaky white sand leading into clear azure water;   Shipwrecks is most productive during a strong southerly swell. surf house rentalNine Plams is a longboarders dream wave.  I've personally had rides well over 30 second and some of my best surf sessions ever. It's become a more popular wave for the local American transplants that live nearby and can at time get somewhat crowded during morning sessions.  Most people are pretty friendly and as long as you show respect to other surfers they tend to do the same.  There's usually plenty of waves to catch and you shold get your fair share.  I like the night sessions here due to the crowds thining out.  Daytimes with lack-luster winds can be great as well. There are more than nine palm trees here these days; at times there are surfers camping on the beach and in the dunes, and a few scattered houses are going up.  It's a beautiful spot and definitely one of the most popular waves on the East Cape, despite the fact that it's not world class or anything. Once it gets overhead the outside section steepens up quite nicely, allowing all manner of schwacks and carves and the occasional tube section.

Here is a list of gear you should consider bringing while staying at Casa Kash Surf House Rental for your surf adventure:

1.) If possible bring two boards.  One long board ( for those smaller days ) and one short board, especially if you are going to surf Shipwrecks.

2.) Bring plenty of wax.  The local surf shops in San Jose run out all the time.

3.) Extra fins, leash, repair kit and booties if you them. ( may need them for low tide days )

Here are some links to the surf shops in San Jose that usually have the items mentioned above.  They can even do repairs but usually will take a few days to complete.

Costa Azul is the largest and most popular of all shops and is located between Zippers and Old Mans surf breaks in the middle of San Jose Del Cabo. They sell their own brands of surfboards and also have a wide selection of rentals. Lessons are also available.

Some other locations that you may consider that will require a drive into town and even on the Pacifc side are:

·  SAN PEDRITO

45 minutes north of Cabo off of Highway 19 at Km. 59.
Reef break, lefts and rights.
Best as a half-day excursion.

·  PLAYA LOS CERRITOS

40 minutes north of Cabo off of Highway 19 at Km. 65.
Beach break and reef break.
Bring your own wax.

·  MONUMENTS

Just north east of Cabo on Baja Highway One at Km. 5.
Left point reef break, acess down a steep cliff.
Monster lefts off a point reef, fast take-offs, then slower shoulders to a rock / cliff beach.
This break only works with a good sized swell, and you don't want to be out here unless you are ready for anything. The waves bounce around quiet a bit because of the backwash from the cliffs, especially at higher tides. If you are looking for a quick rush, this place is better than any drug.

·  BAHIA CHILENO

Northeast of Cabo on Baja Highway One at Km. 16.
Reef break, rights and lefts when it gets big.
A great place to snorkel with it's flat.

·  PUNTA PAMILLA

Northeast of Cabo off of the Baja Highway at the Pamilla offramp.
A right reef break that only breaks when it is h-u-g-e.
Easy beach access. The rocky shore morphs into a sandy bottom offshore, paddling out the channel on the left (east) side is usually the easiest way to get out past the sets.

·  ACAPULQUITO

Located northeast of Cabo off the Baja Highway at Km. 27.5.
A good place for beginners.

·  LA ROCA

Located northeast of Cabo off of the Baja Highway at Km. 27.
A reef break with few crowds.

·  ZIPPERS

Located up Highway One towards San Jose Del Cabo at Km 29, about 2 miles before San Jose del Cabo.
Probably Cabo's most popular break. Everything about this place is easy...which is probably why there's usually a crowd in the water.
Easy parking, easy paddle out (even with a big swell), and great shape on a right breaking wave. Zippers is a reef point break that holds well in w-a-y overhead conditions, and can be lots of fun even with smaller waves (except for the reefs at low tide!).  The rest area / lookout parking lot is just above the break, and there is always an audience watching the action.

·  ESTUARY - LA BOCANA

Located just east of San Jose del Cabo, just up the coast from the hotel zone, just up from the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel.
A sandbar break that takes a good rain to set up. When the huge estuary behind San Jose del Cabo gets flooded from a good Chubasco, the estuary fills up and then overflows to the ocean. The flow of water leaving the estuary pushes sand out into the ocean, creating a sand bar off shore. These breaks are good left and right, and can get hollow and nasty at low tide. Holds a large swell, up to double overhead. Will not break unless the estary has opened up. So just because a south swell is lining up the Cape with corduroy lines, don't expect this break to always have shape. But when it does break, it's one of the best breaks in southern Baja!  Access via the Hotel Zone at San Jose del Cabo.
